WWI - People
The New York State Archives contains records of hundreds of New Yorkers who contributed to the war effort. Whether about soldiers, nurses, sailors, factory workers, or common citizens, each individual record has a compelling story to share. Some of these stories are funny and inspiring, while many are tragic. All of these stories shed light on particular aspects of the war, and are prime examples of the deep value of historical records. The following images are a selection of those that may be found in the World War I document series A0412-78.
