ALBANY - Untangling the branches of your family tree will be a lot easier if you attend The Central New York Family History Conference, a free, day-long series of presentations on doing family history research on Saturday, November 1st in Liverpool.
Sponsored by Onondaga County Clerk M. Ann Ciarpelli in cooperation with the
New York State Archives, the Family History Conference will offer sessions on
Italian, Irish and Welsh family research, using local government records to
track down your ancestors, making the Internet a key genealogy tool, use of
digital photography in tracing your roots, preparing for and executing genealogical
road trips, how to care for your family records, and much more.
Historians, archivists, and genealogy experts will lead hour-long sessions beginning
at 9:00 a.m. The conference will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints on Bear Road, between Buckley & Taft Roads in Liverpool.
"This conference has something for everyone - both the novice and the more experienced researcher," said Kent Stuetz, one of the organizers of the event. "It's an unprecedented gathering of some very knowledgeable people who can be helpful to anyone interested in learning how to research the history of their family."
