ALBANY -- The New York State Archives has announced the appointment of Kathleen Roe to the position of Director of Operations.
In her new title, Ms. Roe will provide leadership and strategic direction for the State Archives in two program areas: Government Records Services and Archival Services. The Director of Operation's responsiblities include working closely with both local governments and State agencies on records management and archival issues as well as with private institutions and organizations that hold historical records around the State.
Ms. Roe has been with the State Archives since 1979 and has held positions
of increasing responsibility with the most recent being Chief of Archival Services.
She is a Fellow of the Society of American Archivists and past president of
the Council of Historical Records Coordinators, now called the Council of State
Archivists. Ms. Roe’s publications and papers are numerous as are her
contributions to the archival profession and to the programs of the New York
State Archives.
