Advertisement from the World's Fair, held in New York City in 1939, for tourists to visit the Catskill Mountains on their way to or from the Fair. The Bureau of State Publicity created advertisements for every major part of New York State for this purpose. Approximately 15 million people attended the Fair, with many driving from the Midwest or beyond, who were the primary targets for this publicity. This poster highlights the Catskills as the "Quaint 'Land in the Sky' where Rip Van Winkle used to hunt..."
