Vacationers enjoy a day on a Coney Island beach. In the foreground, young boys play in the sand and small girls sit in the shade of an umbrella. Behind them, men in suits, women in dresses and young adults in bathing clothes sit on the sand, walk along the beach, or wade in the waves. Some visitors ride along the shoreline in horsedrawn buggies. In the far background, a crowd of people stand on a pier leading to a ferryboat.
