This series consists of appraisals of various mental and psychiatric centers, state schools, and hospitals of the Department
of Mental Hygiene done by an outside contractor, Joseph J. Blake and Associates. The purpose of these reports was to estimate
the deprecation under Medicare/Medicaid regulation of all assets of the Department of Mental Hygiene. Included in these reports
are definitions of terms, listings of assets appraised, plot/floor plans, and narrative descriptions of buildings.

Scope and Content Note
This series consists of appraisals of various mental and psychiatric centers, state schools, and hospitals of the Department
of Mental Hygiene done by an outside contractor, Joseph J. Blake and Associates. The purpose of these reports was to estimate
the deprecation under Medicare/Medicaid regulation of all assets of the Department of Mental Hygiene. Included in these reports
are definitions of terms, listings of assets appraised, plot/floor plans, and narrative descriptions of buildings.
The reports are in volume form, and are organized by unit name. Additionally, select volumes contain aerial, black and white
photographs of the units that are being appraised. Lastly, this series contains a bound publication by the Office of General
Services, Public Building Design and Construction titled, "Building Indexes and Key Plot Plans of Institutions."
