Scope and Content Note
According to New York State Public Officers Law, section 10, every public officer must take and file an oath of office before being entitled to enter upon the discharge of any official duties. Every oath for a state officer is filed with the Secretary of State's office. These oaths in these records are for New York's members of the Electoral College, who convene in Albany every four years following general elections to cast ballots for president and vice president as stipulated in the U.S. Constitution.
Acquisition Information
13251-00: This accretion was transferred to the State Archives in 2000. The records were accessioned in conjunction with a facility renovation project undertaken in 2002.
