Administrative History

Under U.S. Public Law 92-255 Sect. 409, the Drug Abuse Office and Treatment Act (1972), New York State determined that the Narcotic Addiction Control Commission (NACC and predecessor of the Division of Substance Abuse Services), would monitor various methadone treatment programs throughout the state. The Office of Methadone and Pharmaceutical Control of NACC was charged with the task of auditing the pharmaceutical, medical, and rehabilitative aspects of the treatment programs.
