Administrative History

Under U.S. Public Law 92-255 Sect. 409, the Drug Abuse Office and Treatment Act (1972), New York State determined that the Narcotic Addiction Control Commission (NACC and predecessor of the Division of Substance Abuse Services), would monitor various methadone treatment programs throughout the state. The Office of Methadone and Pharmaceutical Control of NACC was charged with the task of auditing the pharmaceutical, medical, and rehabilitative aspects of the treatment programs.

Scope and Content Note

These case files consist of general information about various rehabilitation and treatment facilities throughout New York State, standard inspection reports adherent to federal regulations, and summaries of findings which include deficiency lists. The records also contain sample case histories including redacted client case files. Additionally, the files may contain correspondence, memoranda, and notes relating to the inspection of the facilities.
