Summary:
This series consists of the central subject and correspondence files of New York State governors. The files cover the entire twentieth century with the exception of the periods 1900-1904 and 1911-1918. Files contain original correspondence received by the governor's office from individual constituents; federal, state, and local government officials; executive chamber staff; and representatives of corporations and institutions. In some cases copies of outgoing responses from the governor's office are also included. Topics vary over time and by administration, but encompass all aspects of state government administration.
