Correspondence is from the Commission's Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Chief Examiner and consists of copies before 1899 and typed carbon copies after that date. They concern routine civil service matters such as examinations, temporary appointments, eligibility lists, position classification, municipal civil service rules and regulations, and State Commission finances.
