Summary:

These tables of financial and statistical data for cities, villages and district superintendencies were compiled from reports submitted by individual schools and school districts during 1918-1919. The tables include detailed information on financial payments and receipts; buildings, property, and libraries; teachers and pupils; teachers training classes; normal schools; evening schools; Indian schools; vocational schools; private academies; villages and cities maintaining kindergartens; compulsory attendance; and comparison of statistics from all public schools in 1918 and 1919.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of tables giving financial and statistical data for cities, villages, and district superintendencies.

These tables provide detailed information concerning: financial payments and receipts; buildings, property, and libraries; teachers and pupils; teachers training classes; normal schools; evening schools; Indian schools; vocational schools; private academies; villages and cities maintaining kindergartens; miscellaneous subjects and compulsory attendance; and comparison of statistics from all public schools in 1918 and 1919.

The information on these tables was compiled from reports submitted to the Education Department by individual schools and school districts during school year 1918-1919. The tables follow a format identical to that of tables that were published in the Annual Reports of the State Education Department during the years preceding and following 1918-1919 but for unknown reasons were omitted from the published report of 1918-1919.
