Administrative History

The Banking Department Documents Unit is responsible for receiving and maintaining official filings by banking and financial institutions incorporated or licensed by the Banking Department. Banking Law Section 42 terms this series a "weekly statement" and requires it to be posted publicly in the main office of the Banking Department. The Weekly Bulletin is a regular publication of the Banking Department which is widely circulated in the banking industry. Contents of the Weekly Bulletin are specified in the law.

Section I contains notices of applications for authorizations or licenses, for change in business location, for opening branches, etc. Section II contains a record of all official actions taken by the Banking Board and the Superintendent of Banks, and of other significant activities in the Banking Department.
