Administrative History

The Permanent Commission on Public Employee Pension and Retirement Systems was authorized by Executive Law, Art. 27, Secs. 800-802, to study and make recommendations about all aspects of public employee retirement programs including benefits, funding, cost and administration. Their findings were to serve as a guide for legislative and executive action.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of subject and correspondence files (1987-1992); consultants' reports (1989-1992); and a group of files labeled "Legislative Comments" consisting of summaries of legislative activity regarding public employee pensions, copies of bills introduced, relevant memoranda, and fiscal notes.
