Scope and Content Note

The series consists of 16 mm negative microfilm copies of claims submitted to the Crime Victims Compensation Board relating to cases of personal injury and death. The board, later called the Crime Victims Board, hears and determines such claims for awards as part of its responsibilities to recognize the rights of crime victims and administer the state's law concerning the distribution of monies received as a result of commission of a crime.

Also included is a master index to the microfilm. It is in paper format, and includes the following data elements: date; reference (claimant's name); roll number; index point (the board's claim number); image or "By" (number of pages in the file); and remarks.
