Scope and Content Note

The series consists of administrative and operational records that document the division's activities in the protection and development of New York's coastal zones. Record types include: incoming and outgoing correspondence; memoranda; copies of federal, state, and local statutes; coastal policies and procedures; conference proceedings; published and unpublished reports and studies concerning coastal erosion and waterfront revitalization; memoranda of understanding; draft legislation; copies of regulations; copies of local government resolutions; news clippings and copies of other published articles; copies of press releases; draft and final annual reports; monthly reports; copies of contracts; background materials on meetings, conferences, and other celebratory events involving the division or concerning coastal erosion or local waterfront revitalization; budget development materials; personnel-related records; and other routine administrative records.

Accretion 19598-98 consists of the files of the Governor's Task Force on Coastal Resources which document a series of regional meetings held during 1990 and 1991, as well as hearings conducted during the summer of 1991. Background information collected by the Lieutenant Governor's Office, and joint agency position papers are also included. Accretion 19598-10 contains information on grants administered by the division.
