Also known as "show bibles," the binders in this series contain information useful in designing costumes for productions and
recreating them for future productions, if necessary. Materials include cast lists, costume breakdowns (either by character
or by actor), rehearsal notes, technical schedules, show schedules, orders placed for materials purchased, rental information,
running notes, costume renderings or drawings, photographs of the production and/or rehearsals, and copies of the script.
The show bibles also contain information on the characters in the play, the dimensions of the actors playing those characters,
and the costumes they wore. Some of the information in these show bibles is duplicated in the stage management files (Series
22473), but the overall focus is on costumes and costume design.

Acquisition Information
These records were created by the New York State Theatre Institute, and were transferred to the custody of the State Education
Department when the institute was dissolved in April 2010. They were transferred to the State Archives in December 2010.
