Administrative History
The Census of 1925 was taken pursuant to Chapter 191 of the Laws of 1925 and Article III, Section 4 of the Constitution of 1894. The compilation of the state census was administered through the Secretary of State's office.
Scope and Content Note
This series consists of portfolios of typewritten tabulations "prepared by Cities Census Committee, Inc. to facilitate tabulation of the enumeration of the City of New York, 1925," under the administration of the Secretary of State. Each portfolio contains columns of figures of population arranged by election district and sanitary district for the boroughs of Queens, Bronx, and Brooklyn. The binder for Manhattan is empty; the binder for Staten Island is not included.
