Scope and Content Note
This series contains records of the Utica & Schenectady and Schenectady & Troy Railroads. The Utica & Schenectady Railroad records are annual accounts of property on the railroad, including agricultural and manufactured products. There are statements and reports of the Schenectady & Troy Railroad concerning the issuance of stock authorized by a law of 1837, Ch. 114, which authorized the City of Troy to borrow money and issue bonds, the money to be invested in the stock of the Schenectady & Troy Railroad; and of a law of 1840 (Ch. 229), authorizing the comptroller to issue stock to the company as a loan upon receiving a list of stockholders from the company.
