Scope and Content Note
The series consists of certificates of receipt of money by the Treasurer, and some actual receipts. Each document gives name of payor, date of payment, and amount; the certificates list reason for payment (state taxes, interest on mortgages held by the state, vendue duties, etc.).
With the receipts and certificates are a few letters addressed to the Treasurer (ca. 1860-1892); a few notes on redemption of lands sold by taxes (from reports of county treasurers); and a few bonds.
