Scope and Content Note

The series consists of miscellaneous letters, petitions, printed bills, and documents submitted to the governor relating to proposed legislation. Most of the documents date from 1970-1974 and resemble the modern bill jacket. Similar records are found in Series A1069, Senate Bill Files. The one early petition (1884) may be a fragment from a larger series, possibly related to Executive Chamber blotters (1859-1935).

Custodial History

The petition dating from 1884 was integrated with this series at some unknown date and stored separately from later records in the series, which it predates by a century. Location of additional parts of the series is presently unknown.
