Summary:
This fragmentary series consists of vouchers for payment of bills for food, tobacco, and other personal items purchased by Napanoch inmates. Payments were made from earnings deposited with the prison superintendent. Vouchers include name and signature of inmate, date and total amount of purchase. Invoices from local stores are attached to the vouchers.

Scope and Content Note

This is a fragmentary series of vouchers for payment of bills for food, tobacco, and other personal items purchased by inmates.

The payments were made from earnings deposited by them with the prison superintendent. Each voucher gives name and signature of inmate and date and total amount of purchase. Invoices from local stores are attached to the vouchers. Legislation of 1908 governed disbursement of prisoners' earnings with approval of institution superintendent.
