Administrative History

Revised statute of Laws of 1928, Part 1, Chap. 13, Title 2, provided for sale of land for unpaid taxes. Individual statutes authorized tax sales of 1815, 1818, and 1821.

Scope and Content Note

This schedule lists lands belonging to John Hone in Essex, Clinton, Oswego and Chenango Counties, which were sold for taxes at sales held in 1815, 1818, and 1821. Lots sold are entered by county, and for each parcel is given the lot number, total acreage, acreage sold for taxes, to whom sold, when sold, if and when redeemed, and acreage remaining in the parcel on Jan. 1, 1831. There are also explanatory notes in ink and pencil.
