This series consists of bonds, schedule of receipts for reimbursement of New York State stock and correspondence concerning the issuance of bonds used for New York's defense. Bond information includes issue date, to whom, and for what amount; schedule of receipts information includes reimbursement date, holders name, attorney, certificate number, certificate date, amount, and bonds interest rate. Most correspondence is from bankers to the Comptroller's Office about the issuance of the bonds. Also included are bonds issued by law.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of bonds, schedule of receipts for the reimbursement of New York State stock, and correspondence concerning the issuance of bonds that were used to provide for the defense of New York.

The list of bonds contains the date when the bond was issued, to whom, and for what amount. The schedule of receipts contains the date of the reimbursement, name of holder, attorney, certificate number, date of certificate, amount and the rate of interest of the bond. The correspondence is mainly from bankers to the Comptroller's Office regarding the issuance of the bonds. The series also contains a number of bonds that were issued by law.
