Summary:
This series consists of statements of taxes due from landowners for laying or improving roads adjacent to their property. Each entry includes lot number, owner's name, tax due, date and amount of payment, and payee. Roads included are those from Chester to Canton, Hopkinton to North West Bay, St. Lawrence River to Albany, Salina to Adams, Turin to Emilyville, Salina to Redfield, and from Mexico Harbour to the town of Constantia.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of statements of taxes due from landowners for laying or improving roads adjacent to their property. Each entry includes lot number, owner's name, tax due, date and amount of payment, and name of person paying (for the road from Chester to Canton the entry only lists quantity and location of any land sold by the Comptroller for non-payment of tax and name of any patron redeeming the parcel with date and amount of payment). Roads included are those from Chester to Canton, from Hopkinton to North West Bay, from St. Lawrence River to Albany, from Salina to Adams, from Turin to Emilyville, from Salina to Redfield, and from Mexico Harbour to the town of Constantia. Each of these roads was authorized by statute.
