Summary:
This series consists of auctioneers' sales statements listing daily totals of moveable goods or real estate sold at auction (mostly commercial auctions), amounts, and amounts of duty paid at various percentages. The statements were submitted every three months to the Comptroller. Most of the statements do not itemize articles sold, but a few list items individually.

Scope and Content Note

The auctioneers' sales statements list daily totals of moveable goods or real estate sold at auction (mostly commercial auctions), amounts, and amounts of duty paid at various percentages according to law. The statements are accompanied by sworn affidavits attesting to the accuracy of the figures. The statements were submitted every three months to the Comptroller (L. 1817, Ch. 275). Most of the statements do not itemize articles sold, but a few list items individually.
