Scope and Content Note

This series consists of 4" x 6" index cards providing basic biographical, criminal and psychological histories of inmates housed at Dannemora State Hospital.

The cards provide data on inmate's name; alias; admission number; D.C.I. or NYSIIS numbers; race; consecutive number; year number; date of admission; birth; marital status; nativity; occupation; education; county of trial; court; religion; crime; judge; term; date of sentence; full term; commuted term; former institutional residence before transfer to Dannemora (also by whom brought and who ordered transfer); habits (drugs or alcohol); tendencies (suicidal, criminal, hereditary, homicidal); number of attack and duration; cause; residence in hospital; diagnosis; veteran status; date of discharge; condition of release; and identification number. These cards should be used in conjunction with the inmate case files of the Central New York Psychiatric Center.
