Scope and Content Note

This series records names of inmates who were admitted into and discharged from Matteawan State Hospital.

Both of the volumes provide the names of the inmates admitted and census figures but differ in format after these similarities are noted. Volume 1 provides only the dates of the patient's admittance and discharge. Volume 2 provides the date the patient was discharged, from where he was admitted (ward or institution), the ward originally assigned, expired if appropriate, and the inmate's number.
