Summary:
This series contains reports submitted by orphan asylums, hospitals, shelters for the homeless, and other charitable institutions receiving state funding. Each report is divided into two sections: Schedule A contains financial data including the value of real and personal property, investments, indebtedness, receipts, expenditures, and cash on hand; and Schedule B contains statistical summaries on the number and sex of inmates, including admissions and discharges.

Scope and Content Note

Reports were submitted the Board by orphan asylums, hospitals, shelters for the homeless, and other charitable institutions receiving state funding.

Each report is divided into two sections: Schedule A contains financial data including the value of real and personal property, investments, indebtedness, receipts, expenditures, and cash on hand; and Schedule B contains statistical summaries on the number and sex on inmates, admissions and discharges. Volume 1 contains reports for 1870, although the binding is inaccurately labelled 1872. Volume 2 contains reports for 1871.
