Summary:
The dispensary record, tracking the health and medical treatment of inmates, was a source the physician's monthly and annual reports. Included are: inmate number; division; inmate name; admission date; diagnosis/physical condition; treatment; name of doctor (rarely); occasional remarks (such as the inmate is to see the doctor again or to see another doctor); and discharge date or other disposition (e.g. to isolation ward, to hospital).

Scope and Content Note

The dispensary record, tracking the health and medical treatment of inmates, was a source for the compilation of the physician's monthly and annual reports.

The volumes provide: inmate number; division (through January 2, 1931 only); inmate name; date admitted to dispensary; diagnosis/physical condition; treatment; name of doctor (rarely); occasional remarks, usually noting that the inmate is to see the doctor again or to see another doctor; and discharge date or other disposition (e.g. to isolation ward, to hospital).
