Scope and Content Note

This series consists of an unbound volume listing the names of prospective workers for employment with the new State Capitol building construction project. It includes each person's name and position for which they are being considered, and, in most cases, their address. Notations relating to the person's relevant employment experience, desirability as a prospective employee, and a reference's name are sometimes included (e.g."Had charge of gang of carpenters;" "...Been in building business generally;" "Has been employed on Capitol for two years"). For some individuals, comments referring to their personal and familial circumstances are provided (e.g. "Fell while employed on the Capitol building and broke both anckls [sic];" "...he and another brother are the nain support of a crippled father").
