Scope and Content Note

This series contains an unbound volume documenting hours worked by employees hired for construction of the new State Capitol building. It includes each worker's name; starting dates of the work period; and a hash mark representing each eight-hour shift worked. The actual number of hours worked is apparently recorded in cases where an eight-hour shift was either exceeded or not completed. For some employees, an occasional notation indicating that the employee had been paid or transferred to another job on the construction site is included.
