Scope and Content Note
The hospital admission registers, tracking the health and medical treatment of inmates, were a source for the compilation of the physician's monthly and annual reports.
The volumes provide: admission date; inmate number (beginning in 1911); age (1855-1865 only); division (beginning in 1911); diagnosis/physical condition; treatment (beginning in 1911); name of physician (occasionally, beginning in 1911); discharge date or other disposition (e.g. "Dispensary"); and remarks (e.g. "died", "taken by friends", "to see Dr. Herman").

Custodial History
The Dept. of Correction placed these records on loan to the Syracuse University Library from 1960-1977.
