Administrative History
Chapter 693 of the Laws of 1923 made an appropriation for the development, improvement, and extension of certain parks within the state and for the acquisition of lands. This act included $20,000 for the acquisition of lands for the extension, development, and improvement of Thacher Park under the direction of the American Scenic and Historic Preservation Society.
Scope and Content Note
This series consists of blueprint and whiteprint copies of survey maps related to the State Engineer and Surveyor's acquisition of land for John Boyd Thacher Park. The survey maps depict the tract of land to be acquired for Thacher Park; name of the landowners and surrounding landowners; area of the land being surveyed; boundaries; roads; and natural features.
The maps also show the names of the surveyor; the individuals who created, traced, and checked the map; field and computation book number; date approved and submitted to the Division Engineer; and date examined and approved by the Deputy State Engineer and Surveyor.
