Summary:
This series contains survey descriptions and a map of a land grant for which the New York Central Railroad Company applied. The map was prepared to accompany the application for the grant of land under water of the Hudson River. The Railroad Law, Section 8, gives all corporations authority to enter land to have it surveyed in order to decide upon the best possible railroad route.

Scope and Content Note

This series contains survey descriptions and a map of a land grant for which the New York Central Railroad Company applied.

The two descriptions are carbon typescripts dated March 29, 1916 and a revised description dated June 26, 1917. The map, dated March 28, 1916, was prepared to accompany the application for the grant of land under water of the Hudson River. The Railroad Law, Section 8, gives all corporations authority to enter land to have it surveyed in order to decide upon the best possible railroad route.
