These abstracts or transcriptions of broadsides were made by staff of the Buffalo district office as part of the survey of American Imprints. In addition to the abstracts there is one original broadside dated 1869. Most of the broadsides were issued in western New York, although a few come from other parts of the state and nation.

These abstracts or transcriptions of broadsides were made by staff of the Buffalo district office as part of the survey of American Imprints. In addition to the abstracts there is one original broadside dated 1869.

Most of the broadsides were issued in western New York, although a few come from other parts of the state and nation. The abstracts give the following information about each broadside: full or partial transcription of text; description of format characteristics (ruled lines, columns, coloring, illustrations, size); place issued; and Library of Congress respository symbol.

Custodial History

These records were deposited in the State Library by the Historical Records Survey and subsequently were transferred to the State Archives as part of box 3 of old collection #550A, accession number -372.
