Administrative History

This series was maintained by Francis E. Griffin, secretary-treasurer of the Council on Rural Education (CORE) and chief of the Bureau of Rural Administrative Services.

CORE was formed in 1943 by rural and educational organizations concerned with the quality of education available in rural areas of New York. It included representatives of agricultural groups; district, village, and city superintendents; secondary school principals; and the Education Department. Its purpose was to study the problems of rural education and make available its findings.
