Scope and Content Note

Microfilmed fiscal records include annual reports (1953-1994); annual budgets (1953-1995); cash receipts and disbursements journals or general ledgers (1962-1986); state audits and reports of examination (1925-1993); classification book journals (1971-1978) showing revenues, receipts, and cash disbursements; and general journals and ledgers (1979-1992).

Microfilmed administrative records include oaths of office (1978-1994); town board meeting minute books (1930-1983) including minutes of the Planning Board (1957-1983), and Zoning Board of Appeals; building/zoning permits (1967-1994) including applications for building permits, various zoning requests and violations, pertinent attachments, and variances; and development district records (1961-1995). Other records related to zoning include: business district records; zoning files; zoning requests not passed; and trailer park zoning records.

Custodial History

This microfilm was produced by a grant awarded and administered by SARA's Local Government Records Services for the 1995 grant cycle. Grantees submitted two copies of each roll of project film: a silver copy for secure storage at the State Records Center; and a duplicate copy, containing only non-restricted records, for public use at the State Archives research room.

Use copies of rolls containing restricted records are not maintained by the Archives, and are withdrawn from public use at time of accessioning. Security copies of such rolls are held at the State Records Center and are subject to restrictions under law.

Restricted film was marked and use copies were weeded at time of accession; 30 rolls of master negatives (security copy) were sent to the State Records Center (TL 96-77).
