Scope and Content Note

Microfilm consists primarily of administrative and fiscal records of the Village of Roslyn, N.Y. Administrative records include meeting minutes of the Historic District Board (1980, 1985-1994); Board of Trustees (1932-1991); Planning Board (1949-1994); Warrants for Approval (1991-1994); Site Review Board (1985-1992); and Zoning Board of Appeals (1932-1949, 1973-1994). Also included are records of elections (1932-1994).

Fiscal records include audits (1944-1956, 1968, 1993); budgets (1973-1994); subsidiary ledger appropriations (1976-1984); and record of investments (1990).

Also filmed are local laws (1967-1994) and traffic tickets (1974-1994).

Microfilm is available for use at the New York State Archives or through interlibrary loan.

Custodial History

This microfilm was produced by a grant awarded and administered by SARA's Local Government Records Services for the 1995 grant cycle. Grantees submitted two copies of each roll of project film: a silver copy for secure storage at the State Records Center; and a duplicate copy, containing only non-restricted records, for public use at the State Archives research room.

Use copies of rolls containing restricted records are not maintained by the Archives, and are withdrawn from public use at time of accessioning. Security copies of such rolls are held at the State Records Center and are subject to restrictions under law.

Restricted film was marked and use copies were weeded at time of accession; 35 rolls of master negatives (security copy) were sent to the State Records Center (TL 96-80, 81).
