This series consists of one bound volume containing the names of persons naturalized during 1896 in Erie County. The series was generated pursuant to Chapter 927 of the Laws of 1895, which required court clerks to file annually a return to the secretary of state's office, containing all names and residences of naturalized citizens along with the date of their naturalization. The report contains the date of naturalization, name, residence (city, street and number), and court granting naturalization.
