Scope and Content Note
This is a daily record of inmates entering, leaving, and housed at Albion State Training School.
The volume contains summary statistical information as follows: the date; name and case number of inmates received, discharged, or paroled; total number at the facility and released from the facility at the beginning and end of each day (midnight to midnight); in reception unit; in hospital unit; in segregation unit; in psychopathic unit; in each of three "congregate" buildings; in each of five regular cottages and the "honor" cottage; mothers, adults, and babies in the nursery cottage; negroes in the congregate buildings; names and locations of transferees; and totals and averages of adult and infant population for each month. These records were probably used to compile the statistical information on admissions and discharges for the agency superintendent's annual report, as required by the Correction Law.
B0088-00: This accretion for the time period 1950 April 1 to 1951 March 31 includes numbers and circumstances of prisoners received and released during the twenty-four hour period; numbers of prisoners in nursery, dormitories, reception, hospital, segregation, and other locations. Statistical information only is shown; no names or case numbers are provided.
