Scope and Content Note

This is a statistical register of inmate population for each day of the month.

Each daily entry gives total count of prisoners and number of inmates discharged, received, paroled, at court, or on funeral or sick visit. Totals and averages for each month are entered at the bottom of the page. This volume starts at the same time (1929) as the daily disciplinary record kept by the principal keeper; both volumes contain data formerly kept together in the Hall Day Book, 1895-96. Statistics of inmates were kept pursuant to laws of 1907 and 1929 requiring the warden of every prison to submit an annual statistical report.
