Scope and Content Note

B0324-85: This accretion consists of the speech files of M. P. Catherwood, Industrial Commissioner for much of the administration of Governor Nelson Rockefeller. It contains speeches of the commissioner before legislative committees, private organizations, union groups, business organizations, and other labor/management groups. Topics include employment and labor conditions, industry, and safety.

B0324-07: This accretion consists of the speeches of Dr. Isador Lubin, New York State Industrial Commissioner, during Governor Averell Harriman's administration. It includes typewritten copies of the speeches, broadcasts, and statements before hearings to the New York State Legislature and the United States Senate, many of them containing notes and corrections. There are also printed copies of the speeches, some of them being in the form of press releases; drafts of speeches; a few reports; memorandums containing background and statistical information for the speeches; and reference copies of printed reports.

Custodial History

B0324-07: These records were transferred to Syracuse University in 1959 from Governor Harriman, and were later transferred to the New York State Archives in June 2006. The records were accessioned in October 2007.
