Summary:
This series consists of lists of scores for State War Service scholarships for veterans of World War I and II. Recipients could use their scholarships at any college, university, business, professional, vocational, technical, or trade school in New York State. Information includes city where examination was held; candidates' names; and total scores. The lists are annotated to indicate candidates who withdrew from the competition.

Administrative History

State War Service scholarships were established in 1944 for armed services veterans of World War I and II. Awards were made on the basis of a competitive examination. Recipients could use their scholarships at any college, university, business, professional, vocational, technical, or trade school in New York State. The scholarships were discontinued in 1960.
