Scope and Content Note
These reports were submitted by state training schools to the department to report on inmates who escaped or attempted to escape. Each report provides the following information on runaways or attempted runaways: name; dates left and returned; housing unit of runaways; and remarks briefly describing circumstances of escape and return.
This series contains reports from the following institutions: State Training School for Girls, Hudson (1943-1960); Annex of State Training Schools for Boys, New Hampton (1958-1960); Highland Training School for Boys (1958-1960); Otisville Training School for Boys (1958-1960); Troy Branch of State Training School for Girls (1958-1960); and State Training School for Boys, Warwick (1958-1960).
