Scope and Content Note
This series contains unsigned copies of orders of the commissioner of social welfare transferring inmates from a state training school for boys to the higher security Annex at New Hampton.
Generally, boys were transferred to the Annex if they had behavior problems or presented an escape risk greater than the ability of the training schools to handle. Each order gives the following information about the transferee: name; place and date of birth; dates of commitment and admission to a training school; training school to which committed; name of committing judge; statement of reasons necessitating transfer to the Annex; and date of transfer.
