Scope and Content Note

This series contains five types of plans and drawings: 1) a blueprint of the Museum of Geology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute showing the layout of exhibit cases; 2) a blueprint plan of the New York State Mining Exhibit at the Panama-Pacific Exposition in 1915 showing the layout of exhibit cases; 3) floor plans and elevations of a building containing scientific laboratory space and personal living space: although these plans are not identified, they may be of the building constructed by James Hall in Albany during the 1870s as a residence and laboratory; 4) plans of exhibit cases for the State Museum when housed in the State Education Building: These show dimensions of cases and floor plans showing the layout of exhibit cases, and one drawing shows the display cabinets for the Indian Group Exhibits; and 5) floor plans and elevations of the Education building showing space allocation in the State Museum, and drawings and plans for exhibit cases.

B0949-93: This accretion consists of seven architectural plans for the Iroquois Exhibit in the State Museum, ca. 1902. One blueprint drawing shows the framing plan, ceiling plan, floor plans, and layout of the cases. A second blueprint drawing shows the elevation plan for the observation alcove connected with the exhibit. The remaining five photostatic copies diagram the position of the figures and artifacts for the various cases.
