Scope and Content Note
This series resulted from the comptroller's maintenance of records of the state's military expenditures. Most of the series consists of letters received by the comptroller requesting searches of records to confirm Revolutionary War service.
In addition, the following records are included: bills for repair and storage of small arms; memoranda concerning state military accounts; certificates of employment of clerks in the adjutant general's office; War of 1812 claim number 16,273; and a few claims for the state campaign badge awarded for military service during the Spanish-American War.
