Scope and Content Note
This series consists of folders for approximately 75 inmates received at the Western Reformatory for Women from 1959 to 1966. While the folders are titled "Official Notice of Inmates Received," they primarily contain lists of inmate clothing and personal items.
The lists were written at the time of the inmate's admission and include a brief description of clothing or personal items worn or carried in, issued to the inmate by the institution, or placed in storage for the inmate. The lists include the inmate's name, number, birthdate and birthplace, marital status, religion, and race.

Access Restrictions
Summary information on adult inmates is disclosable under law. State Archives staff will review records containing probation, parole, medical, and juvenile criminal history data and disclose information pursuant to the Freedom of Information Law and Personal Privacy Protection Law. The identity of victims of sex crimes is not disclosable. Unless a specific law forbids disclosure indefinitely, all records must be disclosed after 75 years.
