Scope and Content Note
The series consists of minutes of meetings of the 7-member commission from 1972 to 1990 (no meetings were held in 1991 and only letters canceling the scheduled meetings are present). The minutes were prepared during the meetings, elaborating on the proceedings and actions being taken, and documenting commission policies and decisionmaking. From 1982 onward the records also include handwritten notes (perhaps made by acting executive director Astrid Horan) that provide additional information supplementing the minutes.
The minutes typically include: meeting agenda; legislative proposal reviews; drafts/corrected copies of administrative mechanism bills and memoranda; draft responses to correspondence received by the commission; reports on participation by commission members on panels or in hearings; and results of studies, tentative outlines of reports, and draft reports of the commission.
