Administrative History
The Legislative Women's Caucus was formed in 1983 in order to serve as an advocate for programs and services that benefit women; to insure their full participation in government and politics; and to provide a network of support for women serving in the New York State Legislature.
Scope and Content Note
This accretion, the first group of a projected sixty tapes, consists of audio cassettes and typed transcriptions of interviews with seven women legislators. The Oral History Project is a program, undertaken with the assistance of Russell Sage College, which aims to document, through oral history interviews, the careers of those women who have served in the legislature since 1960.
